Alive

Yes, We're alive!

We had a baby last November, moved, got new jobs, and have found a church body that we are thrilled to be a part of. We're working our hineys off, and every day we're evident that our dependence is on the Lord. It's midnight and I've been up and down with Noah about 4 times already. I suspect this will be a long night, so I'll make the most of it and peek my head in to say Hello. I'm reading about all of you, and praying for you, but you don't hear from me that much. I'm sorry.

5 days a week, I'm watching between 5 and 6 children ages 4 and under from my home, from 6:30-6pm. Long days. Nights are spent taking care of my own family.... busy, but good.

We're in a small group, and I try to meet with women to stay connected. I also have some young girls over a few times a week to help me out with special projects. Nathan is still meeting with a few guys every Wednesday morning before sunrise to pray, confess sin and get real with scripture. We have early mornings and late nights, and we're tired a lot, but it is a very sweet time.

Grace will begin school next year. I'd like to try to homeschool her, but right now, I'm overwhelmed with the many other children we have in the home. I'm a bit discouraged on that front, but I know that I need to recognize that I cannot do it all, and that there are well trained teachers out there that are much more creative than I.

I think that's all I have time for. Noah is squealing again.

We've been out of the loop lately. Nathan's working two jobs, and I'm on mommy/packing duty from Sunup until about 11pm monday-friday and lately the car's been in the shop, so I have been doing a lot of midnight grocery runs. Dual purpose though because I can get more free boxes that way as well, but it's definitely not conducive to our schedule with the kids. things are absolutely crazy right now, just STUFF everywhere. Hopefully I can get that under control today. We move Saturday and Thursday and Friday I'll be at the new place cleaning. The Lord brought so many details together. I'll write about it in my blog in a few weeks. It's amazing. Sorry I've been so scarce.

What would you do?

So if you have IVF treatments, are you prepared to give all of those embryos life? Or will you allow them to be destroyed? This woman chose life, against all the odds. Her circumstances are dire. She may break the bank. She may "lose it all" in terms of worldly wealth, but her children are alive, and they never have to wonder whether their mother would seek her own betterment over theirs. What would you do if you were in her situation? What if you didn't have unlimited resources? What if noone offered you a helping hand?

I'm trying to get organized better as it will be a while before we move.

So which room do I organize first? This will involve purchasing more shelving and boxes.... I'm thinking the kitchen/ laundry room needs the first attention. The only problem is that when I get the shelves, I'll need to move some things from the kitchen into another room and they'll be there until I can afford to purchase more shelving to make room for them in that room... It's a busy house, but we will make it work. The most attention needs to be given to the kitchen, the kids room, and the living room. Let's figure this out!

not optimistic!

Okay, so I had a 45 minute workout today on the elliptical, 450 calories burned and 3.5 miles covered... I've been working out pretty regularly (average 3x a week), changed all my snack food in the house to dried/ fresh fruit, v-8 drinks, water, and 100 calorie pack snacks, the occasional chocolate covered raisins, and am trying to be physical no matter what I'm doing... the lbs are NOT flying off... I am still nursing too... what's that thing about nursing helping you lose weight? Yeah, it has NEVER worked for me....can the 3rd time be the charm? Now I AM snacking most of the day on fruit because I'm nursing, and I'm not going to let noah sacrifice for this... but I don't think that fruit would be my problem. Well, we have a weigh in tomorrow. I'll see how it looks then...
I need to lose at least 30lbs by April 1....
Right now I've lost about 6

Oh, and I need to lose MORE than 30lbs. That's just a short term goal for me. Not to mention, there IS a prize involved, so I REALLY want to get there!

friends list

If you notice that you're not on my fl, just ask and I'll add you back. My sweetheart reads my journal, and there were some womens' private things on my fl that I didn't want my husband to have to deal with if he happened to see... not likely that he would've seen it, but I'd rather not take chances.
